I like where I currently work but I don't really care for what I do day-to-day.

Medium sized network access and phone system solution provider (Company was purchased)
     + Pre-sales engineering for voice and data hardware and services
     + Design of custom solution for VoIP, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) solutions, as well as standard IP network solutions

Courseware Developer/Technical Trainer -- San Bruno, CA
Medium sized network appliance company
     + Created customer facing training materials and lab environment using mail appliance product, PERL, Python, FreeBSD and Windows
     + Responsible for drafting certification exam questions
     + Presented multi-day customer training classes worldwide

Network Engineer -- Palo Alto, CA
Medium sized startup software company
     + Designed, installed and managed all network infrastructure, network servers and computing resources
          + Hired and Managed IT staff and equipment resources as well as formulated fiscal budget.
     + Responsible for all corporate computer-related purchasing
     + Responsible for building security and maintenance issues as well as electrical changes, PBX configuration, voice and data wiring.

Sales Engineer -- Sunnyvale, CA
Large telecommunications company providing a variety of services from standard leased-line connectivity and managed dial-in service to dark fiber and IP transit
     + Provided technical support for all product offerings to both account managers and customer base
          + Worked with customers to design and engineer network solutions to meet their needs
          + Worked with account managers to close deals and meet quotas
     + Gave numerous presentations to staff and customers and created documentation and presentations for staff use

Network Manager/Systems Specialist -- Columbus, OH
Extremely Large State University
     + Built and supervised Support Center and the Computer Consultant Program
          + Responsible for hiring staff of 40 full and part-time staff.
          + Supervised all payroll, scheduling, staff evaluations, disciplinary processes,staff training and computer security issues
     + Ordered, configured, installed and managed all network equipment and servers for a network providing connectivity to approximately 11,000 students, faculty and staff.
     + Worked with outside departments and contractors to ensure SLA's were met, and Acceptable Use and Privacy policies implemented and enforced
     + Gave numerous presentations at national computing conferences, wrote standardized documentation and correspondences as well as taught regular workshops
     + Assisted with support via telephone, email and walk-in consultations for the university community

+ In my spare time I take pictures, crochet, swim and write random code bits while sharing a house with two large parrots, a dog and some fish.

+ I sometimes still play World of Warcraft where I enjoy questing with guildmates, many of which are former students of mine.
